Oreste Berta S.A. has a double Skid Pad, a test track on which to test cars, motorcycles or go-karts.
With various layouts or variants, it has two types of surfaces, and an artificial rain system adjustable in accordance to different requirements.
The asphalt, highly resistant to abrasion, is the one which predominates, but there is also a sector with a layer of concrete cement, so as to offer the two most typical surfaces on which a vehicle normally travels on.
The track was designed for test work ranging from tyre-testing in what refers to friction, drifting, reaction to steering inputs, car roll, traction, shakedown or control referred to the reaction of the steering system, to racing car driver-training, driving on the limit of adherence, and also for special events.
The double Skid Pad of Oreste Berta S.A. will also fulfill a fundamental role in obtaining data for simulation systems which are used in the design of vehicles and the evaluation of their performance.
The precision of the simulations depends on the quality of the technical information they are given, and that is where the importance of this testing facility lies.
